Tremezzo on the eastern shore of Lake Como is known for its agreeable climate and natural, panoramic features. Architectural discoveries dating from pre-Roman times and two Roman tombs found in the Intignano region reveal that this area has been inhabited since ancient times. In the Rogaro district, a tower remains from medieval times and the era of the war with Milan. Legend has it that the little church of the Black Madonna that stands here was brought to this place in 1517 at the peak of Calvinism from the Einsiedeln Basilica in Switzerland by a family of Swiss Catholics. In addition to the porticos facing the lake, you can also see Villa Carlotta and its gardens, which are also characteristic of Tremezzo.
