Cernobbio

Between the mouth of the Breggia river that flows into the lake and the promontory of Pizzo is Cernobbio. It has rich villas, linked to the names of famous personalities with hills and mountains that have a tradition of tourist hospitality. Although it is near Como, this town has kept its old traditions, joining them with new characteristics to form a balance between past and present. The Regina road does not interfere too much with the old center of Cernobbio, around the church, near the gulf that leads to Villa d'Este and which has barely changed. The Church of San Vincenzo has a beautiful, Baroque facade and inside, a chalice and a silver cross from the 16th Century. Around the town are stupendous villas and hotels of international fame. From the direction of Como is the Villa Visconti di Modrone-Erba and the Villa d'Este, Villa Pizzo and Villa Besana.
