Constructed in the early 16th century by Gian Giacomo Dolcebuono, the Church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore is renowned for its stunning frescoes. The facade, constructed between 1574 and 1581, wasn't completed until 1872 by Angelo Colla. The lower level, once the public area, features captivating 16th-century frescoes adorning the walls and ceilings. These masterpieces were created by renowned artists like Bernardino Luini, Simone Peterzano, and members of the Luini family. In the third chapel on the left, you can find a beautifully crafted wooden choir box dating back to 1500, along with a historic organ built in 1554. Don't miss the breathtaking frescoes by Bernardino Luini, created between 1522 and 1529, which are a major highlight of the church.
