The Dolman is Newport's only theater, a small, traditional auditorium dating back to Victorian times. It is conveniently placed in the town center, just minutes away from the bus and train stations and with multi-story car parks close at hand. Home to the Newport Playgoers society as well as a number of other arts organizations, the program is varied and includes serious drama, comedy, musicals, pantomime and even the occasional opera. The theater is small with an intimate atmosphere and especially popular with families- children always enjoy the Christmas panto.
