Beach Rd, Lowestoft
Lowestoft is the most easterly town in Great Britain, and is famous for its wide sandy beaches on one side, and beautiful Broadlands on the other. At the heart of the town is the harbour, home to a modern trawler fleet and an excellent place to buy freshly landed catch. Overlooking the award-winning South Beach is the East Point Pavilion Centre, an impressive Edwardian-style building, which is also home to childrens indoor play platform Discoverig. In the main town centre, Lowestofts pedestrianized shopping area is renowned for its wealth of large stores and specialist shops. If you like browsing over market stalls, however, the place to head is the Britten Centre on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Lowestoft also has a fine collection of museums. Other attractions include the Marina Theatre and the South Pier Amusement Centre and nearby, Suffolk Wildlife Park and Somerleyton Hall.
