A timber-framed building in Worcester, less than an hour's drive from Birmingham, houses a museum dedicated to the history of England's great civil conflict. The Commandery was the royalist headquarters at the Battle of Worcester, which took place in 1651. This is the country's only museum dedicated solely to the Civil War, and apart from the artifacts on show there is also a beautiful garden here. Open all year round.
