Dózsa György út 5, Budapest, 1146
Built in 1953, the stadium was originally named Népstadion, or the People's Stadium before being christened after Hungary's greatest soccer player (footballer), Ferenc Puskás. It has a maximum capacity of nearly 70,000 and is mainly a venue for soccer matches, thus enjoying its reputation as one of Hungary's most important and largest sports institutions. Multi-purpose in all its aspects, this stadium also hosts large-scale music concerts besides festivals, exhibitions and major religious events. Some of the greatest music industry stalwarts have performed here, including greats such as Freddie Mercury, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Michael Jackson as well as epic bands such as U2, Metallica and The Rolling Stones.
