Take a day trip to Troyes, the beautiful capital of Aube, located in the Champagne region on the banks of the Seine River. Historically, Troyes was a central meeting place for merchants throughout medieval Europe, and the town still holds much evidence of this. Troyes is known for its restored half timbered houses and narrow streets, as well as its many churches. View some of the most beautiful stained glass windows in two particular churches: Sainte Madeleine and Saint Martin Es Vignes. Finally, peruse through champagne cellars outside of the town.
