Chateau St. Jean is set against the lofty Sugarloaf Ridge, with beautifully manicured grounds that belie the fact that this is indeed Sonoma. Though the chateau was built in 1920, it was only in 1973, when the winery was established, that the estate became an attraction. Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier and Merlot at the tasting, picnic tables, barrel-tasting events, blending lessons and well-priced editions keep visitors flocking here all year.
