Inaugurated on May 4, 1929, the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre has been host to a number of events. Though this 644-seater is small in size, it is power packed nonetheless. It is the only theater in the US to have "Cyclorama" - a curved wall at the back of the stage which improves sound quality. Undoubtedly this is a prime venue for plays and performances. The oak paneling and use of solid colors in the interiors gives this place an elegant charm. Located within the University of Michigan, this venue is undoubtedly an asset for the institute.
