No visit to Spain is complete without a peek inside the bullring. By far Spain's most celebrated and controversial sport, besides fútbol of course; bull fighting is a real national passion. The season in Córdoba begins in the spring and kicks into full gear in May when the city is awash with festival after festival. Seats for the most popular events sell out soon and seats in the shade (sombra) are always a bit more expensive than seats in the sun (sol). In the summer, the stadium is converted into an outdoor movie theater with nightly showings.
