The beautiful Place de la Libération is shaped in a semi-circle, with the formidable Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy flanking one side of the open space. A stunning equestrian statue honoring Louis XIV stands in the center of the square, which also boasts sparkling fountains. The Musée des Beaux-Arts runs along a section of the square, while cafes and eateries line the other sides. Locals and tourists alike come to Place de la Libération to enjoy an afternoon strolling among the historic buildings or enjoying one of the many concerts and fairs hosted in the square.
