Highcliffe Castle is one of the greatest landmarks in the historic town of Christchurch. Established in the early 1830s by Lord Stuart de Rothesay, the castle marked a Gothic Revival of sorts and is regarded as the sole surviving remnant of the Romantic style of architecture. A sprawling off-white structure, surrounded by verdant greens, with grand entrances and intricately decorated halls and rooms, are some of the features of the Highcliffe Castle. The castle serves as a premier wedding venue, with ceremonies and rituals taking place at the beautiful Winter Garden. A plethora of exhibitions and cultural events are also held here. A restaurant and a gift shop are some of the other tourist joints at the Highcliffe Castle.
