Eglise Saint Maclou is considered to be one of the best examples of Flamboyant style of architecture in the country. Built to replace an existing church in 15th century, Saint-Maclou quickly gained prominence for its outstanding architecture and sharp macabre designs. Peppered with flying buttresses, archways and gabled porches, the structure bears classic features of Gothic architecture, but redefines it with innovative finishing touches. Common among Gothic churches, the exterior of Saint-Maclou also features a number of sculptures, including one displaying people surrounding Christ.
