Palace Theater - Syracuse originally built in 1922 is one of the oldest surviving independent movie theaters in New York. Started by local businessman Alfred DiBella, the ownership was passed on to Frances DiBella and since 2004 is owned by Michael Heagerty. Apart from hosting movies, both latest and classic, Palace Theater - Syracuse also hosts a wide range of concerts, lectures, fundraisers and many other social, private, community and social events on a regular basis. The popular Scare-A-Con Film Festival is hosted every year at this historic venue drawing a large crowd from across the country. This independent theater till date stands as the historic and cultural pride of the city.
