Built in 1428, the Teatro Donizetti symbolizes the rich theatrical tradition of Lombardy. Rooted deep in history, this theater under the management of the Town Council of Bergamo, plays host to many operettas, dramas, ballet performances and most notably the Festival Bergamo Jazz. Besides this, the theater also plays home to many cultural gatherings and a very popular Drama season. The theater interiors are covered with rich decor, a lovely mural on the ceiling and a warm and friendly atmosphere. A research center and an auditorium find place on the theater premises as well. Over the years, with top notch entertainment, the theater has gone on to become an integral part of Bergamo 's rich history.
