TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The town of Bamberg is located in northern Bavaria in the Upper Franconia region. Upon arrival you'll probably notice that this little town has an antiquated charm. There is plenty of history to soak in here, and in between all the sights, you can stop for some locally famous "smoked beer" (Rauchbier) at one of the town's traditional breweries. Bamberg is also the home of the annual Sandkerwa Festival, which is a large street festival featuring music, food, and local fishing history. Some of its most notable landmarks include the Altes Rathaus and the Bamberg Cathedral.
