Also known as Saint John's Square, Sint Jansplein is one of the oldest squares in the city of Antwerp whose construction started in 1870. In 1920, the square was lined with green trees and a kiosk in the center which hosted orchestras and local events. However, 1956 saw the destruction of the kiosk which was later reconstructed by the 21st century. This vibrant space sees numerous concerts and festivals in the month of September. Do not miss out on the famed Wednesday and Friday markets when all the locals engage in typical Dutch friendly banter.
