Lucca

First founded by the Etruscans, Lucca is a historically and culturally significant city located in Tuscany. The city is famous for its city walls which date back to the Renaissance period and is architecturally magnificent. There are numerous landmarks and places of interest in Lucca, which include several churches, libraries and museums. Lucca is also something of a cultural hub and has been the birthplace of some of Italy's most celebrated men and women, such as the composer Giacomo Puccini (Madame Butterfly and La Bohème). The city also hosts several cultural events throughout the year, including the famous Lucca Summer Festival which has seen artists such as Massive Attack, Eric Clapton, Placebo, and Santana.
