All ancient roads may have led to Rome, but the majority of them passed through the delightful town of Chambéry. Bordered by the Bourget Lake and the Chartreuse Mountains, natural beauty surrounds the capital of the Savoie department. There are many sites to see, such as the Château de Chambéry (Chambéry Château) which was built up by different rulers throughout time, including Napoléon Bonaparte, and the Fontaine des Éléphants (the Elephant Fountain) which pays homage to the military adventures of Benoît de Boigne in India.
