Theaterplatz Chemnitz is a square at the Straße der Nationen. The square dates back to the 19th Century and was earlier known as Königsplatz. During the early 1900s, this square was named as Adolf Hitler Platz, only to be renamed to its present name, Theaterplatz in the later half of 20th Century. Now, a popular tourist destination, the Theaterplatz is surrounded by many attractions of the town, like the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Petrikirche, König-Albert-Museum (Chemnitz) which are a must-visit when in Chemnitz. Besides the tourist spots, this square is in the neighborhood dotted with several hotels, restaurants, bars and shops.
