Salon Des Amateurs, located next to the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf’s old town, is a café, bar, club, cultural venue and general meeting ground for people from the city’s spirited art scene. Reminiscent of the 70s, the understated interior provides ample space for its avant-garde cultural program including concerts, film screenings, readings and DJ gigs. But you don’t have to be an artist to join the fun - whether for coffee in the afternoon or clubbing to the sounds of disco, dub, electro, house or reggae, bankers rub shoulders with designers and artists rub shoulders with academics.
