Dating back to the 19th Century when it was built and named, Plaza Nueva underwent several name changes till it was determined that its original name suits the best as people still remember it by that title other than any. Connecting to several roads, this huge square adorned with acacias, palm trees and bitter orange trees with its work benches, marble and granite floors and beautiful ornamentation is a popular hub among the locals. The monument to King San Fernando stands graciously in the heart of this square. You will also see interesting architectural buildings around the plaza as well as cafes and restaurants.
