Old Sarum is a historic site that bears proof of human settlement in this part of Salisbury in 3000 B.C.E. The site is atop an oval shaped hill and has the earliest record of settlement in the city. Now owned as an English Heritage Property, it is open for public viewing. It has been discovered that the site was a fort and now only reminiscence of this place remains in the form of tools and other items. The evidence of life from Neolithic times has made this place a popular tourist spot.
