TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Standing tall in the heart of Karlskrona is the grand Fredrikskyrkan. This ethereal Baroque church lures thousands of discerning tourists annually. Built in 1744, the church bears the name of the Swedish King Fredrik I. The impressive architecture on display here is the brainchild of Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. Within the interiors of the church, one can marvel at the altar, the pulpits and the carillon with numerous bells. The gold and silver work on the facades, especially the organ, is also awe-inspiring.
