Blackpool

Situated along the Irish Sea, Blackpool became a flourishing tourism destination during the Industrial Revolution when mill workers flocked here to the beaches for a weekend break. Sea salt baths were the main reason why the wealthier classes started to arrive here too for vacations. This town is rumored to have more Bed and breakfasts than the whole of Portugal however, as time passed people moved to other areas along the Mediterranean Coast with warmer weather and better transport connections. Though tourist arrivals to Blackpool have plummeted, the authorities are going all out to promote this town as a gay-friendly abode for the LGBT community.
