Built as the Waterloo County Registry Office between 1938-1939, it was the registry office till 1977, after that was the base of Kitchener branch of the Waterloo Regional Police and then a storage unit. This art deco building is among the few of its kind in the city and was revived to its glory when it became The Registry Theatre in 2001. This community theater is among the best of the lot and offers a myriad of shows that can be seen with the entire family. From concerts to musicals, recitals to plays, readings and theater, this beautiful, intimate theater is known for its live performances.
