Built in the late 19th Century, Hargray Capitol Theatre was initially a financial building, then a shoe manufacturing unit before becoming a movie theater in 1917. It was called the Cox Capitol Theatre and held the distinction of being the region's first public space with air conditioning. It closed in 1975 and reopened after 31 years in 2006. Today, it is one of Macon's premier live entertainment venues. From movie screenings to concerts, this place will keep you entertained.
