The town of Nyon is located 22.5 kilometers (15 miles) away from Geneva proper. Overlooking Lake Geneva, Nyon was founded somewhere between 50 and 44 BCE by Romans. Thanks to its rich heritage, Nyon is home to many historical wonders, like Nyon Castle, the Roman Museum and Church of Notre-Dame, to name a few. Throughout the year the town plays host to many culutral events and festivals such as the Michel Sogny Festival and the Paléo Festival. The neat little town, connecting Lausanne and Geneva makes for a wonderful visit during summertime.
