An ancient structure, Mabry Hazen House is perched atop the craggy Mabry's Hill in Knoxville. Also called Joseph Alexander Mabry Jr. House and Evelyn Hazen House, it was built for Joseph Alexander Mabry, Jr, in the year 1858. The edifice remains a fine example of Greek Revival and Italianate architectural styles. It was extended in 1886, which included remodeling its first floor. After the demise of Evelyn, the historic building continues to serve as a history museum. All the ancestral belongings and furniture have been wonderfully preserved. The museum's exhaustive collection is known to be one of the most extensive ones in the country.
