One of the only theaters in the city, Little Theatre Gateshead is the place to be for those who want to check out the local talent or simply immerse themselves in the local culture. Built during the second world war, the theater even served as a barrage balloon station and had its windows shattered when a park across the road was bombed. Now host to plays, musicals, comedy shows and dance performances, the venue is a favorite for those into dance, music and theater. Besides the actual performance hall, the Little Theatre Gateshead also houses a rehearsal room, an art gallery for temporary exhibitions and a coffee bar.
