The Old City Jail dates back to the early 19th century and is one of the eeriest structures in the city. The jail once contained some of the city's most infamous criminals, from petty thieves to drug lords and gang members. During the civil war, it was also used to keep Federal prisoners away from the streets. Now a popular tourist attraction, this is now the site for a number of haunted, historical tours.
