Wolfe Island

Wolfe Island is one of the most interesting and entertaining islands located at the start of Saint Lawrence River in Lake Ontario. Marysville being the largest community here, Wolfe Island is counted as the largest amongst the Thousand Islands. Covering a total area of approximately 124 square kilometres (48 square miles), it accommodates a population of about 1400 residents. Centrally situated, it is easily accessible from Canada and the United States by ferry. Labelled as an Important Bird Area, this island is famous for the growing number of wild turkeys, deer as well as swans in the fall and spring times. Located here is also Thousand Island's largest church, The Sacred Heart of Mary Church. The island is filled with recreational facilities like two golf clubs, three bicycle routes, a corn maze, a number of restaurants, bakeries, shopping centers, as well as various other services.
