Visit the Liberty Hall Museum and get ready to be taken on a journey to its rich and long-standing history. This house was once home to the first governor of New Jersey, William Livingston, and has subsequently housed several U.S. Congressmen, entrepreneurs and visionaries through its existence of more than two centuries. Built in 1772 originally as a 14-room Georgian-style home, what stands today is a 50-room Victorian mansion that preserves a far-reaching collection of furniture, textiles, ceramics and tools that were once owned by the generations of Livingston and Kean families. The museum estate is also open for events, hence a number of corporate and private events are organized from time to time.
