High Street, Joining Lion Street, Brecon, LD3 7AL
The current Brecon Guildhall was built by Andrew Maund in 1770 on the site of previous two town halls. The first was a bi-level wooden structure which was replaced by John Abel's building in the 17th Century. The Brecon Guildhall had a market hall, court and armory in the early 1800s. It underwent a renovation in 1888. Today it features a theater, entrance hall, council chamber and foyer. There are many artifacts adorning this historic building. It is used for weddings and other cultural events. It is the base of the annual Brecon Jazz Festival.
