Ludwigskirche is an important Protestant church of Freiburg. The original church was built in 1829. However after begin completely destroyed by a bomb in 1944, a new Ludwigskirche was built in 1952. The new church features fascinating elements such as the free-standing clock tower, the belfry, beautiful stained-glass windows and a few preserved ruins of the old church. There is a remarkable 41 register organ built by Mathis Orgelbau in 1995.
