Langenburg Castle is perched on a bluff and overlooks the town. It dates back to the 13th Century and was initially the abode of the Lords of Langenburg. Afterwards it has been the residence of the Hohenlohe family and is currently owned by Philipp, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. This huge castle though not open to the public is home to the Schlossmuseum (Castle Museum) and Deutsches Automuseum. The Castle Museum opened in 1960 and includes seven display rooms, the chapel and Renaissance courtyard. While the car museum was established in 1970 and is set in the former stables. There is a cafe on-site as well for refreshments. There are venues available on rent for weddings, meetings and private functions.
