Der Aa-kerk located on Akerkhof is an ancient church situated in the beautiful city of Groningen. The church reflects spectacular Gothic architecture and was earlier dedicated to Saint Nicholas and Mary. The oldest organ in the church dates back to 1667 which was however, destroyed in a fire. The current church organ comes from the 16th Century and originally belonged to Martinikerk in Bolsward; it was transferred to this church in 1991.The church also doubles up as a venue for musical concerts, dinners, weddings, exhibitions, reading sessions and trade fairs.
