The medieval Schloss Oberstein dates back to 1320 and is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the beautiful Nahetal. The castle was built for the Oberstein family as their noble residence and the family stayed here until the 17th Century. Located high above the quaint town of Idar-Oberstein, the castle offers mesmerizing views of Nahe valley and the vast stretches of verdant forests in the distance. Today, its beautifully restored courtyard and rooms also serve as venues for private events. Owing to its antique charm and magnificent views, this Gothic castle has become a major attraction in the town.
