Säuturm is one of the last well-preserved fortified towers of Wetzlar. The medieval tower was part of the Kalsmuntpforte which served as a gate to the former suburban region of Silhofen. A significant historic landmark of Wetzlar, Säuturm features as one of the oldest structures in town.
