Carson City was established in 1858 and has been the state capital since 1864 when Nevada was incorporated into statehood. It is also one of the smallest cities in the country. Carson City was named after Kit Carson, a legendary explorer, and scout. This charming place is full of history and you can get a glimpse of some pages on the Kit Carson Trail, State Capitol, Nevada State Railroad Museum or Nevada State Museum. The city also hosts many interesting events such as the monthly Wine Walk, annual Taste of DownTown, Ghost Walk, Oktoberfest and more. Shoppers can delight themselves in the historic downtown shopping district. There is a lot to do in this city besides history walks and shopping as well.
