The stunning 11th-century Worms Synagogue in Worms, Germany is one of the oldest active synagogues in the country. Also locally known as Rashi Shul, the beautiful synagogue was rebuilt in 1175 using the Romanesque style, following the damage caused to it during the First Crusade. The place of worship is segregated into a Men’s Synagogue and a Women’s Synagogue and a prayer room called the Rashi Chapel. Also within the building is an intricate medieval ritual bath known as the milkyeh. Also on the premises is a lovely Jewish Museum housing several fascinating religious objects, photographs, documents and models amongst others. The place of worship is a must visit while in the city, especially for architecture enthusiasts .
