Sugar Loaf is a striking mountain that forms a part of the Black Mountains. Among mountaineers and climbing enthusiasts, the summit of this massif is renowned for offering breathtaking views of the surrounding highlands and the Bristol Channel. A number of paths of varying difficulty lead up to the summit, meandering through lush environs. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the slopes of Sugar Loaf are home to rich and thriving woodlands, moorlands and upland habitat, supporting myriad native and rare species such as bilberry and heather. Sugar Loaf is also a popular site for stargazing in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
