Dunkirk

Dunkirk is a tiny commune in northern France not far from the Belgian border. Due to its location, the city is greatly influenced by both Flemish and French culture alike. The center of town is a lovely place to shop with its ideal mix of charming little boutiques and high-end malls, all up to date with latest French fashion. As a coastal town, the local cuisine mainly comprises of fresh and innovatively-cooked seafood. Some of the must-have mouthwatering dishes include moules and frites and coq à la bière - chicken in a creamy beer sauce. The coastal town is famed for its lovely sandy beaches, which also played an integral role during the war. Other locations to visit include the historically significant Operation Dynamo museum, the educational Port Museum and the exquisite Le Laac outdoor museum.
