TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Folkestone is a tiny port in Kent, England. The bright, sunny town with its picturesque promenades and buzzing beaches has a plethora of fun and exciting activities on offer. From shopping in chic little boutiques to seaside strolls along the harbor to sampling some of the freshest and finest coastal cuisine there is something to do for everyone. The port is also home to the Eurotunnel Folkestone Terminal from where Calais is just a 35 minute shuttle ride away. Every three years The Folkestone Triennial takes place where works of artists from all over the country decorate the entire town. Artists such as Cornelia Parker, Tracey Emin, Jeremy Deller, Martin Creed and Richard Wilson have all been part of The Triennial. Visits to the historic Leas Lift and Livingstone Lodge - Britain's only overnight safari-park-stay are also a must.
