The Medieval Burg Mildenstein, located in Leisnig, is considered to be one of the oldest tourist attractions of the city. Over the years, the castle has undergone several renovations under the ownership of several dignitaries. In 1890, it was converted into a museum. Exhibitions at the castle showcase its rich and diverse history. Once having housed the Döbeln Giant Boot which has since been moved to the Döbeln town hall, the castle now displays another giant boot measuring 4.9 meters (16 feet). In 1875, the keep was converted into an observation tower for tourists. It offers panoramic views of the charming town.
