Greatstone-on-Sea is a charming beach-side village lying between a nature reserve and farm land. The English Channel lies to the town's east side. This town is popular for a pristine sandy beach extremely popular among wind surfers, walkers and bathers. Greatstone-on-Sea is also where you can find Sound Mirrors, a group of three huge concrete edifices constructed in 1920s and 1930s for the purpose of detecting enemy warships. Coastal dunes are found in Greatstone-on-Sea and these dunes, with their rare plant species, are marked as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
