Built in the 19th Century, Fort bij Vechten is among the series of the forts erected by the New Dutch Waterline. It is also among the two biggest fortresses from this water based defence company. Shaped in an hexagonal form, the complex includes an extensive moat and 22 buildings. It was a storage site for the Dutch Ministry of Defence from 1950 to 1996. Currently it is the base of the Waterline Museum who arranges tours of the complex. Explore this historic place and check out its intact artillery, hidden spots and more.
