Located close to the Jura Mountain ranges, the city of Biel/Bienne lies in Bern canton of Switzerland. Often, the town is addressed in both the languages and Biel/Bienne is also the city's official name. Lake Biel's serene shoreline has been occupied since the neolithic times. Ruins of two neolithic communities were discovered in the 19th Century. Biel/Bienne also remains the hub of Swiss watches industry. Big players including Rolex, Omega, Swatch and Festina have their factories here.
