TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Located in Hirsau, the ruins of Kloster St. Peter und Paul are still evident and the most prominent one being Unteres Tor. The remains of the lower gate, the Romanesque church, and the Renaissance chateau reflect the grandeur of the original structure. During the 11-century's Cluniac reform movement, this monastery played a significant role. The gate can be visited during the annual monastery summer events of opera, concerts and few comedy plays. The impressive fireworks during the cultural events are the main attraction of the site.
